Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer type in the world. The most frequent type of breast cancer is invasive ductal carcinoma. However neuroendocrine tumors of the breast are uncommon and World Health Organization(WHO) defined and classified neuroendocrine differantiated breast tumors as a different type in 2003. There are different frequency rates in literature. In this study we reported 21 patients who had been diagnosed with neuroendocrin breast cancer in our clinic between 2016 and 2019.

METHODS

In this study we reported 21 patients who had been diagnosed and operated with neuroendocrine differantiated breast cancer between 2015 and 2019 in Dr Abdurrahman Yurtaslan Training and Research Hospital.

RESULTS

1015 patients had been diagnosed with breast cancer between 2016 and 2019 in our clinic and 21 of them%2.07) were neuroendocrine differantiated breast cancer.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION

However there is not a consensus about its frequency neuroendocrine breast tumors are defined and classified by who in 2003 as a different type of breast tumor. The recent progress in technology and targeted therapies shows us the importance of defining the molecular biology of the tumor cells.
