Analysis of histopathology results of ASCUS and LSIL cytology in HPV DNA positive cases

INTRODUCTION: Aim: To analyze colposcopic histopathology results of HPV DNA positive women with ASCUS and LSIL cytology in the era of national HPV based cervical cancer screening program
METHODS: This study was conducted in Zekai Tahir Burak Women's Health Research and Training Hospital Gynecological Oncology Clinic between July 2016 and January 2018. The patient records were retrospectively reviewed. 178 patients aged between 30 and 65 years with ASCUS or LSIL cytology and HPV DNA positive were included in this study.
RESULTS: The mean age of the patients were 41 years. 178 hastanýn yüz on birinin sitolojisi ASCUS altmýþ yedisinin sitolojisi LSIL idi. Out of 178 woman in total, primarily referring 111 were positive for ASCUS cytology, 67 were positive for LSIL cytology. There was no statistically significant difference in regard to age, histopathology, HPV DNA type and surgical cone margin positivity between two groups (p=0.49, p=0.25, p=0.15, ve p=0.17, respectively).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The incidence of HSIL and over cervical pathology is not different between HPV DNA positive ASCUS and LSIL cases.

ASCUS ve LSIL sitolojilerinin histopatoloji sonuçlarýnýn HPV DNA pozitif olgularda incelenmesi

GÝRÝÞ ve AMAÇ: HPV DNA kullanýlarak yapýlan ulusal servikal kanser tarama programý ýþýðýnda ASCUS ve LSIL sitoloji sonucuna sahip HPV DNA pozitif kadýnlarýn kolposkopi sonrasý histopatoloji sonuçlarýnýn incelenmesi.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Bu çalýþma Zekai Tahir Burak Kadýn Saðlýðý Eðitim ve Araþtýrma Hastanesi Jinekolojik Onkoloji Kliniðinde Temmuz 2016 ile Ocak 2018 arasýnda arasýnda gerçekleþtirildi. Hastalarýn kayýtlarý retrospektif olarak tarandý. Çalýþmaya servikal kanser tarama testinde ASCUS ve ya LSIL sitolojisine sahip olan ve HPV DNA pozitif olan 30 – 65 yaþ arasý 178 olgu dahil edildi.
BULGULAR: Hastalarýn ortalama yaþý 41 idi. 178 hastanýn yüz on birinin sitolojisi ASCUS altmýþ yedisinin sitolojisi LSIL idi. ASCUS ve LSIL gruplarý arasýnda yaþ, histopatoloji, HPV DNA tipi ve cerrahi sýnýr pozitifliði açýsýndan istatistiksel olarak anlamlý bir farklýlýk bulunmamaktaydý (sýrasýyla p=0.49, p=0.25, p=0.15 ve p=0.17).
TARTIÞMA ve SONUÇ: HPV DNA pozitif ASCUS ve LSIL olgularý arasýnda HSIL ve üzeri servikal patoloji bulunma oraný farklýlýk göstermemektedir.
