Abstract
To present the ultrasonography, Doppler ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging of a 21-years-old vvoman vvith undiagnosed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia presenting as an orbital mass. A 21-years-old vvoman presented vvith a two months history of right-sided erythema and visual lost. Physical inspection revealed right-sided tearing, lid svvelling, proptosis, and rhinorrhea. Ultrasonography of the orbita shovved a hypoechoic, hypervascular orbital mass lying to the retrobulbar region. Orbital magnetic resonance imaging revealed an orbital mass vvhich had low intensity on T1 images and high on T2-weighted images vvith fat saturation. Post-contrast T1-weighted images shovved heterogeneous enhancement. Biopsy of the lesion and peripheral smear had the diagnosis of pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The initial presentation of acute lymphoblastic leukemia as an orbital mass is exceedingly rare. Here we report the imaging findings of a case of pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia presenting as an orbital lesion.
