Abstract
Eighty six patients with pancreatic cancer treated at Radiation Oncology Department of Ankara Oncology Hospital between January 2000-July 2009 retrospectively revievved. Median age of the patients were 57. Male/female was 2.1/1. Adenocarcinoma was the most common histology. Most of them were T3 or T4 tumors. Head of the pancreas was the most common site. Fourty one patients were operated, 45 patients were inoperable. Fifty eight of them were irradiated for curative purpose, 7 of them were locally irradiated for paliation, 16 of them were metastatic lesions irradiated for palliation. Overall 1, 2, 3 years survival rates were %57, %31, %19 respectively. İn conclusion, treatment results of pancreatic cancer is a little better then older series but stili it has poor prognosis and there is need for new treatment modalities.
